Experience/Certifications/Education: Bachelors Degree in computer Science, Information Systems, engineering, or other scientific or technical discipline. Four years of applicable professional technical experience may be substituted for degree requirements. Must possess a Secret security clearance or had a Secret security clearance within the past two years. Provide highly technical expertise in conducting capabilities studies, requirements analysis, and technology assessments.
Travel: 10% to locations predominantly within the U.S with possible overseas locations.
Security Clearance: Secret. Must be eligible for a Top Secret security clearance.
Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States at the time of hire.
| Duties: | Description: Develop, interpret and implement policies in support of network and system engineering, assessment, operations, and maintenance activities throughout all lifecycle phases; supports IA Architecture assessment and development; and conducts IA and IA-enabled product testing and compliance assessments. Provide guidance to conduct standard Authority to Connect (ATC) reviews and evaluations of DIACAP and System Security Authorization Agreement (SSAA) documentation throughout a system’s lifecycle, which includes conception, development, implementation, commissioning, upgrade/modification, and decommissioning. Make recommendations to Air Force policy and procedures from DoD directives that provide the vision, mission, goals objectives, roles and responsibilities for
• Compliance Assessments - Determine requirements for and coordinate assessments of DOD, Air Force, and Joint systems for their ability to meet established DOD and Air Force security requirements, and industry standards for the Air Force’s Certification and Accreditation (C&A) and Authority to Connect (ATC) processes. Conduct security assessments and validations on DOD and Air Force IA elements such as strategies, architectures, standards, policies, networks, systems, components, applications, IA and IA-enabled products, Network Risk Assessments (NetRAs), IA Controls, SSAAs, and other documents as directed by the government. Use AFCA-approved custom templates and processes (IT LEAN, SISSU, etc.) to evaluate compliance with network security policies and procedures contained in National, DOD, and Air Force directives, instructions, manuals, memorandums, and standards. Incorporate in each assessment, lessons-learned, prerequisites, priorities, rules, stipulations, provisions, and grandfather clauses made over the past 5 years. Recommend risk mitigation procedures, countermeasures, and policy changes in each assessment.
• Correspondence - Prepare executive-level papers, briefings, reports, correspondence, etc., as required for presentation to Air Staff, AFCA, PM, MAJCOMs, and working groups at AF, and DoD levels. Recommend a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to resolve and implement solutions.
• Communications - Requires excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation), ability to interface with clients in person, via Video Teleconferences VTCs), and over the phone. Strong problem solving/analytical skills and the ability to understand new technologies quickly are essential. Candidate must possess strong proficiency with computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite.
• Travel may be required and the candidate must be able to operate reliably and efficiently without direct supervision. Normal hours are Monday through Friday 0730-1630, but can vary during peak periods and travel.
