TOC Campus Ambassador

Time Out Chicago magazine is seeking highly motivated undergraduate students who love Chicago as much as we do, and who are looking to gain hands on marketing experience. TOC Campus Ambassadors will work collectively with a team of students on their campus, as well as other Chicago campus teams, to develop and execute events, promotions and various marketing campaigns for TOC and its partners. In the past TOC partners included Starbucks, Macy’s and the Chicago Blackhawks. Together we will offer students a variety of exciting challenges throughout the year which we are certain will provide valuable internship experience.

Who You Will Work With:
TOC Campus Ambassadors will work closely with the experienced marketing executives at Time Out Chicago. Our Marketing Director, Julie Hammer; Senior Marketing Manager, Tuck Shepard; and Sponsorship Manager, Ari Bennett, will rely on TOC Campus Ambassadors to provide them with essential information from your campus, including trends, and appropriate marketing strategy. In exchange they will act as a mentor, and are always eager to help and offer real world advice. Additionally, TOC Campus Ambassadors will interact with the students on their campus, enhancing their own student networks.

Duties:

1.) Develop unique marketing plans for Time Out Chicago magazine and our advertisers for promotion and execution on their specific campuses. TOC Ambassadors will tailor these programs to fit their school’s student dynamic and campus culture.

2.) Report to TOC Campus Ambassador program manager on assignments and team activity on a weekly and monthly basis.

3.) Work with team members to participate in sampling program initiatives, TOC student events and focus groups.

4.) Plan and present monthly reports to TOC marketing executives on your marketing strategy, as well as trends and campus movements. TOC Campus Ambassadors will act as liasons between TOC and their campus to provide insight on college life and campus trends.

5.) Utilize social networks and viral marketing, both on and offline, to inform students about Time Out Chicago and its advertising partners.

Qualifications:

Students who participate in TOC Ambassador program will gain valuable experience from an international company that will help them in their future career. This internship will enhance your portfolio and extend the opportunity to develop and test your own marketing strategy, providing necessary experience in today’s competitive job market. Additionally, you will interact frequently with marketing professionals, who offer their expertise from the field today.

Students MUST receive academic credit via their university advisors and curriculum requirements in order to participate in the TOC Campus Ambassador Program. Time Out Chicago will work directly with your university to comply with all required steps such that participating students are able to receive credit.
