INTRODUCTION: 

This document establishes and describes the function, authority reporting relationships, responsibilities, duties, and performance criteria of the Semiconductor Sales Engineer for Precision Polymer Engineering Limited.

 

FUNCTIONAL ROLE

The primary function of the Sales Engineer is to develop new sales and service existing customers while establishing strategic customer relationships that will facilitate growth toward sales goals and objectives established by the Company.

 This position can be located anywhere in the Midwest.  We are looking for someone to nuture and grow the existing client base as well as develop new business leads.

In addition, the Sales Engineer is to professionally represent the design capabilities, materials capability and manufacturing capabilities of the company to its customers and perspective customers.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

-The Sales Engineer reports to the USA Country Manager.

-The Sales Engineer closely works with the UK based Strategic Business Development team on business development activities

-The Sales Engineer liaises with manufacturing, quality, materials product support and technical departments to maximise effectiveness of winning and introducing new business.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Duties:

Basic functions include:

-Developing and maintaining a robust business plan for the territory.

-Developing Key Customer Account Plans for major customers within the territory.

-Developing Annual Sales Budgets for the territory in line with company objectives.

-Growing sales and gross margin of the territory in line with company objectives.

-Timely reporting (Visit Reports, Monthly and Quarterly territory reports)

-Identify customer's needs and propose solutions within the customer's budget.

-Perform basic design and material selection evaluation and provide quotations for custom applications.

-Establish strategic business relationships with customers.

-Represent the company and build a favorable reputation in the marketplace.

-Provide perspective and guidance to promotional strategy in the markets served.

-Manage customer information through the company's CRM tool

 

Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS:

-Demonstrate a background in the Chemical Processing or similar Industry.

-Must have a degree or equivalent qualification preferably in a technical discipline.

-Willingness and ability to travel throughout the Midwest.

-3 to 5 years experience in direct selling engineered products to OEM's.

-Prefer a candidate that can display some knowledge of mechanical engineering or polymer science

-Must have a clean driver's license.

-Willing to travel to the UK manufacturing facility every 3-6 months.

-Must have strong interpersonal skills and an intuitive ability to understand the needs of engineers and purchasing agents through effective listening.
